Libya exports 600,000 barrels of crude oil to Italy

Libyan oil ports of Zuwaytina and Brega, operated by the International Maritime Company in Tobruk, announced on Sunday exporting 600,000 barrels of crude oil to Italy via the Maltese-flagged oil tanker HYDRA.

It is the second oil shipment that has been sent to Italy from the same oil ports. Last week, Libya has exported 630,000 barrels of crude oil to Italy, bringing the total oil exports to Italy to more than 1.2 million barrels within only 10 days.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has announced earlier its intention to increase its oil production to 2 million barrels per day (bpd) by 2020.

Libya’s oil revenues reached around $24.4 billion in 2018, which is a five year high and a 78% year-on-year increase, despite the instability at different oilfields. mainly Sharara.

The figures were announced by the Chairperson of the NOC, Moustafa Sanalla, during a press conference held in Benghazi on 6 January.
