Massive protests swept Tarhuna city, 65 kilometers to the southeast of Tripoli condemning the violence, kidnapping and killing acts that spread among the city during the past period.
The protesters demanded Tarhuna youth to abandon armed and terrorist groups and only join the army or police forces if they want to defend their country.
Last month, heavy clashes erupted between Tarhuna residents and south Tripoli, which lead to large number of victims and casualties. Critics were directed to the Libyan authorities for not taking serious steps towards ending the violence acts.
The residents accused government of ‘staying in silence, watching Libyans dying’.
