The value of trade exchange between Libya and Tunisia in 2018 increased to DT 1.2 billion (about $400 million), the Governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), Marouane El Abassi, said on Wednesday.
In his briefing before the parliament, he added that the agreements signed with the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) have been fruitful and left a significant impact on the improvement of the Tunisian economy.
El-Abassi explained that the value of non-banking transactions between Tunisia and Libya reached DT 4 billion (about $1.2 billion), of which DT 2-billion-worth transactions were on the Libyan-Tunisian borders, pointing out that these transactions contributed to the recovery of tourism in his country.
