The Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) announced on Thursday completing the installation of a modern weather observing system at Nafoora oilfield airport.
The new equipment is a fully automatic wireless weather observing system for the airport, compliant with international standards and recommendations.
It is the first locally installed modern weather observation system in a Libyan oilfield with several runway measurement instruments, all of them real time connected to a central information system. The system ensures a smooth and progressive mounting of all meteorological sensors necessary for airport weather monitoring and for aircraft traffic control, the company said in a statement.
This integrated system is dedicated to local monitoring of aircraft flight atmospheric conditions. It helps the airmen (pilots and airport staff) to make sound safety decisions.
