Murder of 2 children widely condemned

The National Commission for Human Rights in Libya denounced the murder of two children early Saturday by armed groups in Marzuq, southern Libya, according to its statement.

Neither the motive of the criminal act against the family nor the perpetrators have been determined thus far.

The commission called on the Public Prosecution and the Libyan National Army (LNA) to launch an investigation to identify the perpetrators, especially that Marzuq is one of the southern cities recently “liberated” by the LNA from terrorists.

In late February, spokesperson of the LNA Ahmed al-Mismari announced the armed groups have been “completely” eliminated from Marzuq town during the LNA’s military operations in the southern region.

The weapons of Chadian fighters in Marzuq town of southern Libya have been confiscated and gunmen have been arrested by the on Friday.
