Tripoli ranks 218th in Mercer’s 2019 Quality of Living Survey

Tripoli has been ranked in the 218th place out of 231 for the second year in a row and 16th out of 20 Arab countries in Mercer’s 2019 Quality of Living Survey, which was issued on 13 March.

Mercer’s survey annually ranks the quality of living of expatriate employees in various countries.

The factors on which the survey depends on its evaluation are recreation, housing, economic environment, consumer goods availability, public services and transport, political and social environment, natural environment, socio-cultural environment, school and education, and medical health.

As for the rest of the Middle Eastern and North African nations, the survey said the Middle East’s safest cities are Dubai (73) and Abu Dhabi (73). Damascus (231) is the least safe city, both in the Middle East and the world.

This year, Vienna tops the ranking for the 10th year globally, closely followed by Zurich, while Western Europe dominates the ranking, with Luxembourg named as the safest city in the world.
