Opportunity for solution to Libya’s crisis still available: Sarraj

Head of the Presidency Council (PC) Faiez al-Sarraj said the opportunity to reach a solution to the Libyan crisis is still available, calling on all factions to prioritize Libya’s interest over any other benefits.

During his meeting with Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki and his accompanying delegation in Tripoli on Monday, Sarraj criticized a number of the Libyan political parties “trying to obstruct” reconciliation in Libya.

According to a Tuesday statement, Faki discussed with Sarraj the reconciliation meeting announced to be held in Ethiopia next July. Faki also denounced foreign interventions in Libya, on which he blamed further complications in the crisis.

Earlier on Sunday, Faki attended a quadruple meeting on the sideline on the 30th Arab Summit held in Tunisia. The meeting included representatives of United Nations, the Arab League, the African Union and the European Union to discuss the Libyan crisis and ways to resolve it.
