Interim Government holds workshop bringing together private, public sectors

Ministry of Economy and Trade of the Interim Government on Friday held a workshop, entitled “Private Sector: Obstacles and Solutions,” sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture in Benghazi as well as other entities.

The workshop was attended by several business figures, owners of companies and factories, deans of colleges, academic staff members, and representatives of the Center for Public Administration and Institutional Development of the University of Benghazi.

During the workshop, 14 scientific papers were discussed with the private sector companies and businessmen to come up with important recommendations that will contribute to boosting cooperation between the public and private sectors to achieve the development and reconstruction of Libya.

In chaos since the downfall of Muammar Qaddafi in 2011, Libya is ruled by two governments. The Government of National Accord (GNA) is based in Tripoli and has the support of the United Nations while the interim government is based in Tobruk and supports Libyan National Army Commander Khalifa Haftar. The GNA and Haftar are at war on Tripoli outskirts.
