Libya to witness partial lunar eclipse for nearly two hours

Libya will witness Tuesday partial lunar eclipse for two hours and 58 minutes from 8:43 to 10:01, according to Roaya Amateur Astronomers’ Society.

The Society said all regions in Africa, Australia, South America, most of Asia, Europe, the Far East and South America will see the partial lunar eclipse.

“A partial lunar eclipse occurs when the Earth moves between the Sun and Moon but the three celestial bodies do not form a straight line in space. When that happens, a small part of the Moon’s surface is covered by the darkest, central part of the Earth’s shadow, called the umbra,” according to timeanddate website.
