LNA carries out major attacks on GNA’s locations

The Libyan National Army (LNA) carried out on Monday major attacks on the locations of the Government of National Accord (GNA) near Libya’s capital, Tripoli, according to the media center of the LNA’s 73rd infantry brigade.

The media centre said the eastern army made progress towards places controlled by the GNA as per the instructions given by General Commander of the LNA Khalifa Haftar.

The centre added that the GNA has incurred heavy losses and withdrawn its forces inside the capital.

On Sunday, director of the LNA Karama Operation Room Khaled al-Mahjoub said the war of the LNA, which broke out on April 4, to “liberate“ Tripoli from armed groups was about to come to an end as the eastern army is at a distance of kilometers from the Martyrs Square in Tripoli.

In the past few days, the LNA made progress toward Tripoli as the army has achieved remarkable results in its fighting in the war on the outskirts of Tripoli in al-Khala and Wadi al-Rabia, he added.
