Petrojet discusses resuming operation in Libya

The possibility of resuming Egypt’s Petrojet suspended projects in Libya was discussed by Libyan and Egyptian officials Monday.

Chairperson of the General Authority for Electricity and Renewable Energies, Fakhri al-Massmari, met on with Walid Lutfi, the head of Egypt’s state-owned Petroleum Projects and Technical Consultations Company (Petrojet).

The meeting discussed resuming Petrojet’s suspended projects in Libya, including the gas pipeline project for the Sarir power station.

On the other hand, the Libyan side announced last Sunday a surplus of electricity production in the eastern region.

In a statement, the authority said the electrical network in the eastern region witnessed this week a surplus of production estimated at 130MW.
