LNA to target any aircraft, ship carrying weapons for GNA

Any aircraft or ship carrying ammunition and weapons to the armed groups of the Government of the National Accord (GNA) are a “legitimate target,” Major General Mohamed al-Manfour, commander of the Air Force’s Operations Room in the Libyan National Army (LNA) said Wednesday.

Manfour added that the airstrikes launched on early Tuesday by the LNA on the Faculty of Civil Aviation of Misurata of GNA targeted a Turkish aircraft carrying ammunitions and weapons inside the faculty.

A Turkish aircraft found in the faculty indicates to Turkey’s interference in Libyan internal affairs and its support to the armed groups affiliated to the GNA, the LNA said.

Previously, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan admitted his country’s in the ongoing war.

Two radar stations near the Faculty, northwestern Libya, were targeted as part of the operation.

As part of its fight on the armed groups, the LNA also carried out on Monday night five airstrikes on Chadian Opposition groups in Marzuq, southwestern Libya.
