LNA’s Air Force carries out 13 airstrikes on military facilities in Misrata, Al-Manfour says

The commander of the Libyan Air Force’s operations room, Major General Mohammed Al-Manfour, said the Libyan Air Force’s warplanes had carried out 13 airstrikes on military facilities in Misrata.

Al-Manfour told UAE-based Al-Bayan newspaper that the military facilities were part of the Turkish agenda in Libya aiming to hamper the advance of the Libyan National Army (LNA) on Tripoli and its efforts to liberate it from ‘the grip of terrorism.’

“The airstrikes hit three depots used as parking lots for Turkish drones. They also targeted other facilities, including aircraft that was at Sarb Sadoun field.” Al-Manfour remarked, adding vowing to target all sites that are linked to military operations that aim to get in the way of the LNA advances.

In the meantime, the General Commander of the Libyan National Army, Filed Marshal Khalifa Haftar, confirmed that the LNA would leave no stone unturned in thwarting any plans to build foreign bases that support and fund terrorism in Libya.

The media office of the General Command said Sunday that Field Marshal Haftar is personally monitoring and supervising the targeting of Turkish operations rooms by the Libyan Air Force.

LNA’s spokesman, Ahmed Al-Mismari, explained that the airstrikes hit Misrata Air College because it had turned into a ‘Turkish base’ and thus, it poses a threat to the LNA.

Al-Mismari added in a press conference in Benghazi on Sunday that the LNA had depicted the building of four new military outposts at Misrata Air College and they suit very well the Turkish drones, saying ‘that is why we hit the Air College in a preemptive strike so we ensure it wouldn’t be used against the LNA.’
