Pakistan wishes to cooperate with Libya in oil sector

The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanalla reviewed Tuesday with Pakistan’s ambassador to Libya,  Sajid Iqbal, the possibility of boosting cooperation between the two countries in oil and gas sectors.

The ambassador said Pakistan is willing to cooperate with Libya in human resources’ development and seismic surveys, while Sanalla welcomed the Pakistani desire for cooperation as the NOC is preparing for new phase that will include building massive projects to increase oil production.

The Chairman of the NOC stressed earlier that the state oil firm is hoping to increase oil output to over two million barrels per day (bpd) by 2023 through working with international partners.

Economists believe that the NOC needs more work than just rebuilding its infrastructure as raising oil production numbers would not be easy amid the repetitive security violations in the country.
