UN envoy discusses Libya’s crisis in Cairo

The UN envoy to Libya, Ghassan Salame, said he met the Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmad Abu Al-Ghayt Monday in Cairo to discuss the latest security and military developments in Libya.

Salame told Arab League’s accredited reporters that Libya is an important member of the organization which he said should be involved more in finding a political solution in Libya.

Salame reiterated that regaining security and stability is very significant for Libya to retake its position among Arab countries.

Salame travelled to Cairo Sunday and met with the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.

UNSMIL’s Head is trying to gather regional and international support for a political solution in Libya amid talks about a possible international conference on Libya under the auspices of the UN.
