158 Nigerian immigrants repatriated home from Libya

158 Nigerian immigrants, including eight pregnant women, were repatriated to their country as part of the International Organization for Migration’s (IOM) voluntary repatriation program that was launched in 2017.

The immigrants were repatriated onboard a Buraq Air charted plane and were received by NEMA teams.

The chief of Lagos office of NEMA Idriss Abubakar Mohammed said the immigrants were 56 adult women, three female children and five female infants as well as 84 adult men and ten male children.

Eight pregnant women were in need of immediate medical care once they arrived in Nigeria.
