Turkey delivered a blow in Libya as GNA continues to fail

After about seven months of fighting in Tripoli, the mysterious alliances made by the Government of National Accord (GNA) are still ongoing amid its loss of many allies in the western region in Libya.

A new report by Strategy Page website that provides military analysis said Turkish support for GNA couldn’t affect where the war in Tripoli is going despite the fact that it backed the peace process in talks with the international community.

The report says the GNA is losing now many allied armed groups because of the public Turkish support and the prolongation of war in Tripoli.

According to Strategy Page, the UNSMIL which is based in Tripoli should pick a side to support and that side should be the Libyan National Army (LNA) or it will find itself facing the outrage of armed groups backed by Turkey and loyal to Muslim Brotherhood Group; armed groups that are made of warlords who are after preventing the LNA from its war on terrorists as they continue their efforts to set up an Islamist government in Libya.

The website also said that setting up an Islamist government in Libya would cause a lot of trouble, especially that it fulfills Turkey’s Ismalist government desire that is being manifested in its violent interventions in the Arab world since 2016, knowing that all those efforts haven’t yet paid off.
