Trump, Sisi discuss Libya in New York

The US President Donald Trump and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi have discussed the crisis in Libya and reiterated their support for a united national government that is borth democratic and capable of fighting terrorism, a statement by the White House said.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meetings in New York, where countries’ leaderships will all be present and Fayez Al-Sarraj will be representing Libya as well.

Egypt’s Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said the meeting between Trump and Al-Sisi went over many regional issues, including Libya, fighting terrorism and illegal immigration.

Radi added that Trump had renewed his country’s commitment to joint cooperation and strategic coordination with Egypt.
