France’s Foreign Ministry calls for ceasefire in Tripoli

The French Foreign Ministry has urged for a ceasefire and resumption of the political process under the auspices of the United Nations as per principles agreed on at Paris, Palermo conferences and Abu Dhabi meeting in order the pave the way for elections in Libya.

The spokesman for the French Foreign Ministry said in a presser on Monday that the ministerial meeting held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York helped reinforce international efforts end the crisis, reiterating that there’s no military solution to the crisis in Libya.

The spokesman added that resuming the political process in Libya means uniting all institutions and continuing economic reforms, saying the ministerial meeting allowed the international community to show unity and will to support the UN efforts to end the conflict in Libya.

“This has helped the international community’s efforts in Libya before the upcoming international conference to he hosted by Germany in November.” The spokesman added.
