United Kingdom’s embassy in Libya has welcomed the UNSMIL condemnation of attempts to undermine the work of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC).
The UK embassy said the Tripoli-based NOC is a sovereign and independent institution and is responsible for managing the Libyan oil revenue.
It added in a statement that the NOC’s Independence should he respected and that all oil revenues and resources should be made available for all Libyans.
Meanwhile, UNSMIL expressed concern about the indications of division at the NOC and its subsidiary; Brega Company.
It added that such a step threatens the Libyan oil revenue and the interests of all Libyans, reminding all parties that it is also a violation of UN Security Council resolutions and that those behind this step could be sanctioned.
