List exposes Presidential Council’s squandering of funds on its delegations

The General Director of Libyan Protocol Faisal Abu Baker sent a letter to the Libyan chargé d’affaires in Azerbaijan listing the names of the delegation that will accompany the Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj when he attends Non-Aligned Movement summit in Baku.

There were 13 names on the list headed by the Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala, media adviser to Al-Sarraj, Hassan Al-Houni, Al-Sarraj’s secretary Al-Moatasem Bellah Al-Dawi, head of Al-Sarraj’s office, Mohammed Swaidan, and the rest were security personnel.

The number of the delegation members sparked criticism by Libyans who slammed the Presidential Council for squandering Libya’s state revenue for perfection while the capital, Tripoli, and the whole country is going through rough living conditions and economic as well as security turmoil.

Libyans said if Al-Sarraj took care of the capital and managed to end its current crisis with such a team of security personnel، then Tripoli would have been in much better position away from the control of armed groups.
