Libyan ports are bustling as oil exports increase

A reliable source from Brega port has told 218News that an oil tanker is preparing to ship crude to Italy and the amount of the shipment will be specified later on Saturday.

Meanwhile, a fuel shipping vessel arrived Saturday morning at the Brega port and loaded diesel fuel to be shipped tonight.

The Zueitina oil terminal’s management said Saturday that oil tanker “Delta Maria” has sailed toward China laden with a million barrels of Libyan oil.

China is a very significant market for Libya’s National Oil Corporation. A high ranking delegation from the NOC visited last July China and met with the Chinese national oil institution and Petrochina officials to discuss more cooperation.

Libya exports about 10% of its annual oil production to China, according to data published by the Libyan oil sector.
