Turkish ambassador denies that his country sent terrorists to Libya

The Turkish ambassador to Tunisia, Ali Onaner, said Turkey is among the leading countries in the war against ISIS, denying that his country transported terrorists from Syria to Libya.

These remarks came to respond to accusations pointed at Turkey recently that it had sent terrorists from Syria to Libya after leading a military operation in Syria starting October 10.

The Turkish ambassador tried to justify the operation that has been deplored by the international community to Tunisian News Agency saying the aim of the operation in Syria is ensuring ISIS and Al-Qaeda militants or “terrorists from PKK” are not positioned near Turkish borders.

He reaffirmed that Turkey and Tunisia are in constant and “perfect” joint cooperation in intelligence sharing.
