Putin: Moscow supports peaceful solution to Libya’s conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin has confirmed in a phone call with German Chancellor Angela Merkel that Moscow will support all efforts to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Libya.

Putin, according to the Kremlin, said his country and Germany are ready to assist Libya in efforts of military deesclation.

According to the Kremlin, the two leaders agreed on facilitating mediation efforts led by the UN to resolve the Libyan crisis peacefully.

Putin expressed concern in last July about infiltration of militants from Idlib in Syria to Libya, saying terrorist activities are on the rise and that military operations in Libya should stop as soon as possible to resume dialogue and unite state institutions.
