Egypt, UN review solutions for Libya’s crisis

The Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry has met with the UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame in Cairo to discuss the latest developments in Libya.

The meeting on Tuesday will discuss the ongoing preparations for Berlin conference on Libya that is scheduled to be held before the end of 2019, according to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry’s statement.

The statement said that the Egyptian Foreign Minister will brief Salame on the efforts being exerted by Egypt to end the ongoing conflict in Libya.

Meanwhile, press sources in Egypt said President Abdel Fattah el Sisi was going to visit the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday to meet with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Commander of Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed.

According to the sources, Libya will be the top topic of the discussions after el Sisi finishes his meetings on Tuesday with a high ranking Russian military delegation, which arrived in Cairo late on Monday headed by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu.
