The Libyan embassy in Malta has denied the report of the Maltese Sunday Times newspaper published last Sunday saying a secret deal was signed by Malta with the Government of National Accord to intercept illegal immigrants.
The Libyan embassy said in a statement on Monday that there are no secret migration deals with the Maltese government, adding that the two governments are cooperating in efforts to curb illegal immigration flow and human trafficking operations in the Mediterranean as per the 5+5 partnership and the commitment to the international humanitarian law.
