Wintershall Dea says will continue to work in Libya

The CEO of Wintershall Dea Mario Mehren said the company isn’t considering departing Libya despite all security challenges that are hindering much of its work.

Mario Mehren told The National Business website that Wintershall Dea is producing 40.000 bpd of oil in eight fields.

The German oil giant produced 60.000 bpd of oil previously before it dropped that number by 20.000 bpd.

The CEO said the pipelines and export units were in need of maintenance work, but their repairing teams – mostly foreigners – couldn’t reach the area for security reasons.
