Al-Mismari reveals to 218News the latest developments at El Feel oilfield

The spokesman for the Libyan National Army, Ahmed Al-Mismari, said the LNA’s Air Force carried out an airstrike against the main force that took control of El Feel oilfield on Wednesday morning, adding that LNA fighter jets are still targeting the armed groups in that area.

Al-Mismari told 218News on Wednesday that LNA’s aircraft were still doing surveillance in the area of El Feel oilfield as military backup arrived in the vicinity of the oilfield, saying LNA forces “are in direct combat now with the enemy at the oilfield”.

He indicated that the fighting at the oilfield is led by General Abu Al-Qassim Al-Abaj whose forces are pushing out the attacking forces, saying its aim is to distract the LNA from the battle in Tripoli and that LNA won’t abandon its role in security Libyans’ resources.

Military units from Petroleum Facilities Guard of Sabha military zone of GNA controlled Wednesday morning El Feel oilfield, according to the media office of the military zone.
