Al-Assad speaks about “Sarkozi’s crime” in Libya

The Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad said former French president Nicolas Sarkozi had committed an atrocious crime as he killed hundreds of thousands of Libyans for fake allegations and slogans of bringing freedom and dignity to Libyans, likening Sarkozi’s allegations to those of US President George W Bush whom Al-Assad said killed millions of Iraqi people for similar fake emblems and slogans.

Al-Assad considered Bush and Sarkozi liars to people who were aspiring for better lives, adding that evil countries were hinding their ugliness behind faked beautiful masks.

Speaking to Paris Match magazine, aired by Russian media outlets Thursday, Al-Assad didn’t explain how Sarkozi killed hundreds of thousands of Libyans neither did he say where he got this number from or whether he meant the number of Libyans killed over the last eight years since 2011 after the NATO intervention that was pushed by France, according to reports revealed over the last few years.

Sarkozi has been for the last two years living under investigation for financial corruption with links to Gaddafi’s regime, which is said to have funded his second presidential campaign to win the second term as a president but he lost for Francois Hollande.
