Libyan Investment Authority discusses security of its assets with UK officials

Officials at the Libyan Investment Authority (LIA) have discussed with UK embassy in Libya cooperation in administrative work and governance standards as per Santiago Principles.

The meeting was attended by LIA CEO Ali Mahmoud and the British foreign office official tackling Libya’s affairs, James Turner.

The two sides discussed joint mechanisms to secure LIA assets after the LIA signed last week an agreement to develop administrative work for 2019 and 2020 with Bahrain Institute for banking and financial studies to boost cadres by training programs.

LIA is hoping to up it’s working standards and develop administrative standards as well, including boosting the capabilities of its cadres.
