The Interior Minister of the Government of National Accord (GNA) Fathi Bashagha arrived Wednesday to Doha, Qatar to discuss cooperation in issues of joint interests.
The Interior Ministry of the Government of National Accord said the visit came upon an invitation by the Qatari Prime Minister and Interior Minister, who was the one receiving the Libyan delegation.
The Interior Ministry said the reception was very special and spoke to the deep-rooted relations between Libya and Qatar.
Bashagha was accompanied by deputy foreign minister, deputy health minister, deputy transportation minister, and coordinator of terrorist affairs at the Presidential Council.
The visit wasn’t announced earlier and came amid the controversy surrounding the Presidential Council’s MoUs that were signed with Turkey.
