Salame comments on the agreement between Erdogan and Al-Sarraj

The UN envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame has finally spoken about the controversial maritime MoU between Libyan GNA and Turkey, saying he was sorry that such new problems were added to the Libyan crisis, which he said could enter a new phase of prolongation.

Salame told Russian news agency Sputnik that the UN has no right to meddle in sovereign decisions of countries, adding that there are already enough hurdles hindering the work of the UNSMIL.

The Head of the UNSMIL said he hoped that all countries understand the gravity of the situation in Libya and to abstain from complicating it and hindering political solutions, in a indication to the MoU signed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Head of Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sarraj.
