Turkey’s Defense Minister: Agreement with Libya’s GNA will protect our interests

The Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said Ankara had signed the agreement with Libya’s Government of National Accord to protect the interests and rights if the two sides.

The minister said the MoUs signed with the GNA don’t violate international laws, adding that the maritime deal doesn’t target any of the neighboring nations.

Hulusi Akar said Turkey won’t allow any party to take the rights of Turkish Cypriots, adding that “all should know that there can be no solution in the Mediterranean and Cyprus without Turkey’s involvement.”

He earlier said that his country had reached common ground with Russia and the US on “Peace Spring” operation and was waiting its allies to live up to their commitments, Anadolu Agency reported.
