The Speaker of the House of Representatives Aquila Saleh arrived Thursday in Greek capital Athens upon an invitation by the Greek Parliament to discuss the repurcussions of the agreement between Turkey and Libyan Government of National Accord regarding maritime boundaries.
Greece has rejected the agreement between Turkey and GNA and its Foreign Minister said the deal was illegal.
The Libyan House of Representatives has also rejected the agreement as the Presidential Council and its Head Fayez Al-Sarraj were acting beyond their authorities regarding the international agreement signings, which must be endorsed by the HoR before being inked.
Greece has also expelled the Libyan ambassador a week ago as a response to the agreement, which it said was a threat to the security of the region.
