Libyan oil terminals gradually resume exports

Libyan oil terminals at the Oil Crescent region has been seeing progressive return of operations after shutting down last Tuesday due to high winds and sea waves for fear of accidents that could resemble the one that happened to Atlantic Beach ship in Tripoli port.

A navigation source told 218News that Zueitina oil terminal will reopen on Sunday and that export operations can be resumed on Monday at Brega port with two vessels awaiting to be loaded with diesel fuel and heavy crude oil.

Sidra oil terminal said on Friday said Siberious vessel arrived to ship one million barrels to Spain and added that it expects “S.C. UP Sian” to arrive at the port on December 25 to ship 600.000 barrels, without saying what its destination will be.

This progressive reopening of oil terminals comes after excluivse reports by 218News that oil exports were halted last week, affecting the main source of income to the country that makes up 95% of state funding.
