UN warns against growing humanitarian needs in Libya

The assistant head of the OHCA in Libya said the continuing conflict in the country will increase the need of humanitarian assistance and aids.

The UN official told Novasti Friday that Libyans are still bearing the burden of the conflict as warring parties continue to fail to reach a political solution, saying the UN and partner organizations are still carrying out the response plan to the humanitarian needs in Libya.

He indicated that the responsiblity for providing humanitarian assistance is blamed on Libyan authorities and the UN is just a coordinator and an assistant body.
