Bahrain says it supports Egypt’s efforts in Libya

Bahrain said Sunday that it supports Egypt’s efforts in Libya as they aim to bring about stability and uproot terrorism.

Bahrain said it backs up Egypt and the efforts of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to boost development and protect national security as well as the security of the region.

The government of Bahrain added in a statement that it supports all kinds of efforts to protect Libya against terrorism and extremism.

The Egyptian President described the Government of National Accord in Libya as “hostage to militias and terrorist groups in Tripoli”, adding that Egypt can intervene in Libya but is still respecting the ongoing crisis.

El Sisi said at the World Youths Forum in Sharm El Sheikh that his country’s national security is directly linked to the security of Libya, adding that Egypt didn’t conspire even in the most delicate issued in Libya affecting its national security.

El Sisi indicated that it is important to regain national statehood in Libya as national armies are the ones responsible for security against any external parties trying to impose their agendas.
