Libya’s Oil Crescent ports resume exports

A navy source at Brega port has told 218News that the Oil Crescent region is resuming oil exports after one week of suspension.

The source said Brega port received Monday morning two heavy oil vessels and one urea vessel, while Ras Lanuf port received a fuel tanker that was preparing to ship gas, adding that Tahidi vessel was also awaiting its turn to load shipment.

Oil terminals shut down last Tuesday due to high winds and sea waves for fear of accidents that could resemble the one that happened to Atlantic Beach ship in Tripoli port.

This progressive reopening of oil terminals comes after excluivse reports by 218News that oil exports were halted last week, affecting the main source of income to the country that makes up 95% of state funding.
