218News reveals steps of Erdogan’s military intervention in Libya

Exclusive sources told 218News that Turkey is mulling sending 150 to 200 military fighters as a first group to Libya, saying they will be spcial forces, intelligence, advisers and engineers.

The sources said 250 fighters from Interior Ministry and General Staff of the Government of National Accord arrived in Turkey’s Adana city to receive training as per the security agreement between the GNA and Turkey.

Meanwhile, Erdogan held a meeting on Friday with his government officials for three hours to set up a plan for the military intervention in Libya.

The sources also indicated that Erdogan will hold Saturday a meeting with the Turkish Defense Minister to put the final touches on the preparations of sending the troops to Libya.

“Erdogan hadn’t yet approved a plan for supplying the troops that will be sent to Libya and is still discussing it with his government officials.” The Sources added.

Meanwhile, Algeria didn’t respond to Ankara’s request to use its airspace or one of its airports to provide the needed supplies to troops in Libya.

The sources added that there could be a visit by Erdogan or his Defense Minister to Algeria in that regard very soon.

The French President Emmanuel Macron talked to Erdogan on the phone on Thursday about holding a tripartite summit Russian-Turkish-French in Istanbul when Vladimir Putin arrives in Turkey this week. Macron also talked to Putin about it, according to the sources.
