Egypt: Turkey’s attempt to send troops to Libya is a desperate attempt to help terrorists

Foreign Relations Committee of the Egyptian House of Representatives discussed in an emergency meeting on Sunday the ramification of the Turkish escalation in Libya after the Turkish Parliament had passed a bill to deploy troops to Libya.

The committee said the Turkish intervention in Libya threatens the Arab national security as the chairman of the committee Abdelkarim Darweesh said they will contact all the Parliaments of the NATO as Turkey is a member of the bloc to clarify the illegality of the step Ankara is taking.

The committee will also contact different parties around the world related to the Turkish escalation in Libya to also clarify the threats of Turkish intervention in Libya and its consequences on the stability of Libya and the entire region.

The chairman of the committee said Turkey’s deployment of troops to Libya is a desperate attempt to help the terrorist groups in the region, saying Egypt won’t sit idly by and watch this threat being materialized to destabilize the Mediterranean region and that it will take the necessary steps to respond to the threats.
