Erdogan: Haftar is spoiled

The General Command of the Libyan National Army Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar is a recurrent topic in Turkish President’s speeches, especially after the signing of MoUs with Libyan Government of National Accord in maritime boundaries and military as well as security cooperation.

The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said in his recent remarks that the Commander of the LNA was “spoiled” blaming the German Chancellor Angela Merkel for it, in a desperate attempt to distract attention from his assistance to the GNA to help from its fall by securing MoUs to collect the fortunes from the Mediterranean, knowing that Erdogan’s name wasn’t on the scene over the last five years as Haftar was always strongly in the scene in Libya fighting terrorism.

Erdogan tried lately the very well-known pressing card regarding the Libyan crisis, saying Libya could turn to a gate sending terrorists to Europe if Ankara didn’t intervene and support the GNA against the LNA.

While Erdogan’s stance toward the LNA commander is on the news only, his stance toward his ally Fayez Al-Sarraj is very intricate as Turkey is sending mercenaries to Libya.
