LNA Spokesman: Clashed return to all Tripoli frontlines

The spokesman for the Libyan National Army (LNA) Ahmed Al-Mismari said all frontlines in Tripoli are seeing clashes after the Government of National Accord’s (GNA) armed groups have breached the ceasefire.

In a press conference in Benghazi on Sunday, Al-Mismari said the LNA is on alert for any violations of the ceasefire by the GNA armed groups and LNA forces will respond to them immediately with force, adding that the armed groups are using artillery shelling and mortars I’m Tripoli but the LNA forces are firmly holding on to their positions.

“Turkey is now transferring mercenaries and weapons to Libya in large amounts as it wishes to send to Libya about 8000 mercenaries.” He added, saying the recent statements of Erdogan constitute a breach of the ceasefire as they provoke the LNA.

Al-Mismari said the LNA General Command depicted in the middle of last week deployment of forces in Misrata aiming to attack Abu Grain town and western Sirte, so the LNA forces decided to attack first in a limited area to know what the aim of those armed groups were.

“Abu Grain operation isn’t a breach of the ceasefire as it was carried out by Sirte Operations Room forces not Western Region Operations Room forces. The LNA doesn’t want to advance on Misrata now, but when it does, it will have a special operations room for that.” Al-Mismari indicated.
