Al-Mahjoub: LNA doesn’t ignore politics and Haftar won’t let Libyans down

The Head of Motivation Department of the Libyan National Army Brigadier General Khalid Al-Mahjoub has confirmed that the LNA will participate in the 5+5 military commission in Geneva.

Al-Mahjoub told 218News on Saturday said the LNA will take part in any international meeting as the situation imposed on the ground by the LNA forces led to the current political situation, adding that if the main conditions of disarming and dissolving militias and starting the security arrangements are on the table, the LNA will be attending.

“The problem in Libya is the terrorist groups and armed militias that have become allies to the Muslim Brotherhood as they are now leading the war and funding it by making deals with countries like Turkey, which started intervening in Libya and has sent mercenaries, weapons and ammunition to Libya. Not to mention, Qatar and other Muslim Brotherhood-linked countries.” He said.

Al-Mahjoub added that GNA forces have been violating the ceasefire and the LNA has responded to their attacks, saying so far, 71 Syrian mercenaries who came from Turkey have been killed and 50 others injured in Libya.

“Libyans have been upset by Salame’s briefing at the Security Council as he didn’t mention the name of the country that sent logistical and military support in Libya in public. No need for diplomacy since Turkey itself announced its intervention in Libya.” Al-Mahjoub indicated.
