The Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives denounced in a statement the speech made by the Government of National Accord’s representative at the Security Council Al-Taher El Sonni at the council on last Thursday.
The statement said El Sonni’s speech had sp many false statements and that the GNA was the one committing legal and financial violations in Libya.
It added that his speech ignored the conditions in Tripoli and the hegemony of militias on the state institutions, not to mention his negligence of the security agreement between Turkey and GNA without consulting the HoR.
The committee also decried El Sonni’s evasiveness to talk about the influx of mercenaries brought by Turkey to Libya, which is a violation of Berlin conference conclusions.
“El Sonni’s speech only represents small minority of people inside Tripoli.” The HoR committee added.
