The finalized Global Firepower ranking for 2020 saw the US army ranked first globally and Russian army second, while Chinese army came third, followed by Indian, Japanese, South Korean, French, UK, Egyptian and Brazilian armies.
The index utilizes over 50 individual factorsto determine a given nation’s PowerIndex (‘PwrIndx’) score with categories ranging from military might and financials to logistical capability and geography.
Only Egypt from the Middle East and North Africa made it to the top ten as it came 9th compared to 11th last year, hence taking this rank from Turkey which retreated to 13th this year.
Along with the retreat of the Turkish army, Iranian army also came after the Turkish army, while Israeli army came 18th.
Saudi Arabia’s army came second on the Arab ranking after Egypt, followed by Algeria, and UAE as third and fourth.
