Outrage in Tripoli after Bashagha’s press conference

The press conference of the Minister of the Interior of the Government of National Accord Fathi Bashagha has sparked angry reactions among the armed groups, while security patrols of the Criminal Investigation Agency went to streets as a proactive step from the Ministry of Interior.

It seems that Bashagha has exploded the dormant volcanoes with his conference, in which he spoke about the armed formations in Tripoli, which he described as militias that do not abide by the law and do not abide by the rules and regulations, as the vision and level of speech of many leaders and affiliates of the armed groups changed since they rushed to renounce the conference.

Meanwhile, the armed groups had a state of anger among them, accompanied by threats, intimidation as affiliates spoke publicly and in video statements spreading on social media about bringing in Syrian mercenaries and extremist groups to fight, saying that their role had ended and that Bashagha did not dare utter what he had said until after the arrival of the Syrian mercenaries, whom they promised to kill on the streets of Tripoli.

In the meantime, security patrols belonging to the Criminal Investigation Agency went out after they had gathered at Mitiga roundabout, where a private source told 218News from the scene that the Tripoli Security Directorate and the personnel of Investigation Apparatus took to the streets in response to the calls of Bashagha , who wanted a pre-emptive step to abort any attempted rebellion or armed chaos.

The source said the criminal investigation personnel called for the release of the director Naji Zoubi, asking the Special Deterrence Force to free him from Nawasi Brigade’s jails.
