Erdogan announced that two Turkish soldiers were killed in Libya

Confirming what was reported exclusively by 218News about 5 days ago, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the killing of two Turkish soldiers in Libya.

218News had learned from informed sources that 3 bodies were removed secretly and under heavy guard from Mitiga airport on a flight heading to Istanbul the night the Libyan National Army targeted a ship of weapons in the port of Tripoli.

The same sources confirmed at the time that the bodies belonged to two Turkish soldiers, one of whom was of a high rank, and a Syrian translator who was accompanying them at the port.

In his speech at a press conference in Ankara before he left to visit Azerbaijan, the Turkish President did not reveal the identities of the two Turkish soldiers or the place of their killing, and as usual in all his speeches, Erdogan attacked the commander of the LNA, Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, describing him as an illegitimate figure, accusing foreign countries of supporting him with arms and money.

He pointed to the continuous consultations between him and Russian President Vladimir Putin on many issues, especially the continuous evaluation of all developments in order to develop a road map for their policy in the region, stressing that his country will remain present and active in the region and will not remain an observer only.

Erdogan recently admitted that Turkish soldiers are in Libya, accompanied by fighters from the Syrian National Army, to fight the Libyan National Army forces led by Field Marshal Khalifa Hifter, contrary to what he had previously stated that he sent only Turkish advisers, whose tasks were limited to providing logistical support in the battles.
