Libya, Syria will win over Turkey and terrorism, says Deputy PM

The Libyan Deputy Prime Minister Abdel-Rahman Al-Ahirish has described the opening of the Libyan embassy in the Syrian capital, Damascus, as a very big step at this difficult time in Syria and Libya.

Al-Ahirish explained in a press interview on his visit with a high-ranking delegation to Syria and his meeting with Syrian president, Bashar Al-Assad, that the opening of the embassy will anger many people but rejoice most of them, noting that the work of the embassy will start on Tuesday – March 03 2020.

The Deputy Prime Minister confirmed that the Syrian embassy in Tripoli will resume work after the capital is liberated, saying that a consulate is being opened in Benghazi.

Al-Ahirish also said that the two countries are fighting one enemy, which is terrorism, and they will win, describing Turkish intervention in Syria and Libya as “the barbarian battle” led by Erdogan to try to realize the dream of restoring the Ottoman Empire.
