The Head of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord, Fayez Al-Sarraj, discussed Wednesday, in Pretoria, South Africa, with the US ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, international efforts to support a political solution to the conflict in Libya.
According to the US embassy in Libya, Norland thanked the GNA for its “serious” participation in economic, security and political dialogues under the auspices of the United Nations.
The US ambassador expressed his deep concern about the fragile truce around Tripoli, the continued closure of oil production, and the continued displacement of Libyan families due to the constant shelling of civilian areas and infrastructure.
The meeting in South Africa is the fourth between Norland with Al-Sarraj since the US ambassador took office in August last year.
