WHO Regional Office expects a vaccine for Coronavirus soon

The Director of the Emergency Preparedness Program and International Health Regulations at the Regional Office of the World Health Organization in Cairo, Dr. Dalia Samhouri said she expects a vaccine for the Coronavirus to be manufactured soon.

Dr. Dalia Samhouri indicated that efforts to find a vaccine for the Coronavirus are carried out in cooperation with WHO with a network of international experts in the field of healthcare.

Speaking to BBC Arabic, she added that the vaccine has a specific time period and “it will not be used quickly until it is assured that it is safe and until the age groups and the people who will be using the vaccine are specified”.

Dr. Dalia Samhouri added that there are many tests on drugs at the clinics, adding that such tests are expected to determine antivirals that can be used soon.
